I hope for cooperation in the years to come, building the best possible Polish-Czech relations in all formats in which we participate together – said Polish President Andrzej Duda after meeting with the newly elected President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, who visited Poland.

In his speech after the meeting of the two presidents, Andrzej Duda announced that “the most important issues related to political and economic affairs” were discussed. Among them, the President of the Republic of Poland mentioned, among others: cross-border cooperation, including the development of communication and tourism. Prospects for high-speed rail links, regional cooperation within the Three Seas Initiative, cooperation within the Bucharest Nine and strengthening NATO’s eastern flank were also discussed.
In more detail, President Duda spoke about what both countries would like to achieve at the next NATO meeting in Vilnius.
Poland and the Czech Republic are at the forefront of military and humanitarian support to Ukraine. We have a strong policy in this area

We also discussed energy security, the development of gas terminals in Świnoujście and Gdańsk, and securing gas supplies to the Czech Republic in the future
Andrzej Duda added. In this context, he appreciated the cooperation of the Polish Orlen with the Czech refinery holding company Orlen Unipetrol.
At the end of his statement, the President of the Republic of Poland thanked the President of the Czech Republic for the good living and development conditions created for the Polish minority in the Czech Republic.

At the beginning of his statement, the President of the Czech Republic thanked for the Polish invitation.

Petr Pavel considered the development of road and energy infrastructure as absolutely key issues in the relations between Poland and the Czech Republic. He spoke, for example, about the weight of the Stork II gas pipeline, which is to connect the Czech Republic with the terminal in Gdańsk.
At the end of his speech, President Pavel announced that Poland would be a special partner during the upcoming NATO days in Ostrava in mid-September.
