“In recent days, the Internal Security Agency has arrested 9 people suspected of collaborating with the Russian special services. The suspects carried out intelligence activities against Poland and prepared acts of sabotage at the request of foreign intelligence services. The detainees are foreigners from across the eastern border,” Mariusz Kamiński, the minister of the interior and administration, said in a statement.
The court placed six of them in pre-trial detention. The prosecutor’s office charged him with spying for Russia and participation in an organized criminal group. Prosecution proceedings are underway against 3 detainees. There is evidence that this group guarded railway lines. Its duties included recognizing, monitoring and documenting arms shipments for Ukraine. The suspects also prepared sabotage actions to paralyze the supply of equipment, weapons and aid to Ukraine
– said Minister Kaminski.
ABW agents secured cameras, electronic equipment and GPS transmitters that would be mounted on aid transports for Ukraine. The information gathered by the Internal Security Agency shows that the group was commissioned for propaganda activities aimed at destabilizing Polish-Ukrainian relations, fueling and arousing hostility towards NATO countries in Poland, and attacking the policy of the Polish government towards Ukraine.
