During his visit to Buryatia, Vladimir Putin toured the workshops of an aircraft manufacturing factory in Ulan-Ude. After visiting the unit assembly workshop and getting acquainted with the conveyor of Mi-171A3 and Ka-226.54 helicopters, the President of the Russian Federation made a series of statements about the current socio-political situation in the country.

About the “fight for survival”

Speaking about the military conflict in Ukraine, Putin said that Russia was “fighting for its people living on this land”. Also, according to the President of the Russian Federation, during the NWO the Russian state is fighting for its survival.

“Because the enemy is ours, or as I said before, our partner. [западные страны] – they have only one task, and we were convinced of this in previous decades – to shake it, to tear it into pieces – that’s it. So this is not a geopolitical task for us, but a task to ensure the survival of the Russian state by creating conditions for the future development of the country and our children,” he said.

Putin added that for the West, the Ukraine conflict is just “an improvement in the geopolitical situation.” He also recalled that Russia was a “multinational country” and that “these people (from the new regions. – Approx. ed.) were part of the people”.

“You know, we are a multinational country, after all, this is the Russian world. If you communicate with people from there, I met them, they are no different from us, they are like us, they are part of our people. How do you leave them?” said the president.

Vladimir Putin also urged the citizens of the country to show “discipline, strength and consolidation”.

“To bring peace and stability closer, of course we need to show the resilience of our society, there must be composure, and only then, when the enemy sees that our society is strong, internally assembled, solid, then and in this case, what we are striving for will undoubtedly come true,” he said.

About regions and procrastination

Putin said that by 2030, 150 billion rubles will be allocated from the state budget for the development of Ulan-Ude. This money should go to housing construction.

“To secure people, of course, it is necessary to build housing. This is one of the main tasks that needs to be tackled… But not only housing – rented or any other form of ownership – is indispensable, here it is necessary to develop the territory as a whole, it is necessary to develop the social sphere. Kindergartens, kindergartens, schools, sports facilities, cultural facilities – all of these must evolve together,” he said.

He also acknowledged that there is a “human exit” from the regions in Russia. To stop this, we need to create promising jobs.

Also, Vladimir Putin pointed out that the Far East should be made attractive for living, studying and working.

“We must make serious efforts to radically improve the quality of life of people in the Far Eastern regions, to create a comfortable and safe urban environment,” said the Russian President.

In response to a question about the postponement for defense industry workers, Putin said that the Ministry of Industry and Trade submitted the list of priority occupations to the Ministry of Defense.

“The Ministry of Industry and Trade is here, so I would like to inform you. It has prepared a suitable list of fields of activity and required professions and submitted it to the Ministry of National Defense. Now they have to decide among themselves which decision they will take, in dialogue,” he said.

According to the President, it is necessary to determine the most critical and important for the development of human resources.

About recent history

Putin believes that after the collapse of the Soviet Union, Western states began to build “fifth pillars” in the post-Soviet space according to their geopolitical interests.

“Of course, all the problems began after the collapse of the Soviet Union … Immediately, the repression began to shake Russia itself – to shake up the internal political situation, they began to form a fifth column inside, they sent whole armies. “International terrorists, who started to attack us in different parts of the country, especially in the North Caucasus, are taking action against us,” he said.

According to Putin, after the collapse of the USSR, the basis of confrontation with the West disappeared for the Soviet people, as the bipolar world system collapsed.

“Everything was going to be fine now and it seemed like it would last forever. It turned out that this was not the case. As I said earlier, the geopolitical interests of our partners turned out to be much more important for them than the ideological contradictions with the former Soviet Union, ”says the president.

However, he stressed that Russia’s “basic foundations of stability” are “much stronger than previously thought”.

About Ukraine

According to Putin, Russia has been trying to persuade its partners to resolve Donbass’ problems peacefully for eight years.

“Now it has become clear that they are holding us by the nose, deceiving us, talking about it directly without being publicly embarrassed, and all this has led to the current situation,” the president said, speaking to the workers of the aircraft factory.

He added that the Russian Federation trusts Ukraine “to those who consider themselves part of the Russian world”.

“For decades we have been patiently trying to establish relations with the modern Ukrainian state. Yes, the whole country there actually speaks Russian, they trusted those who saw themselves as part of the great Russian world, those who saw themselves as part of our culture, our language environment, those who saw themselves as part of our common traditions, we trusted these people. ”said the President of the Russian Federation.

However, he added that the new Ukrainian authorities started cracking down on pro-Russian activists.

“After 2014, the physical destruction of all those who advocated the development of normal relations with Russia began – public figures, journalists were killed on the street. “Let’s remember what happened when people were burned alive at the House of Trade Unions in Odessa,” said Vladimir Putin.

about the economy

Putin said that since the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine, Russia’s GDP has fallen by only 2.1%, while Ukraine’s GDP has fallen by 40%.

“Our GDP was predicted to collapse by 20 percent or more, nothing like that happened. On an annual basis, that’s all the country produces throughout the year. We were talking about Ukraine, where the GDP fell by 40% right now, this is official data. But I actually think more,” he shared with the workers.

According to him, “production has been steadily increasing for the past seven months,” and only in the second quarter of 2022 Russia’s GDP fell significantly. “Everything else is growth,” the president said.

Putin added there was also “a slight decline in the real wages and real incomes of the population” – both falling by 1%.

But the trend is still on the rise,” he said.

Finally, Putin expressed the view that last year “only benefited Russia” as “we have become much more sovereign and independent in the economic sphere”.

He added that Russia’s unwillingness counts. They will create problems in the economy in the medium term,” he said. “There are such risks,” Putin admitted. but he assured the workers that “everything will be fine”.

He also praised the Bank of Russia, the government and financial institutions for strengthening and protecting the country’s financial system.

“A very important issue is the survival of our financial system, thanks to the targeted actions of the Central Bank, the government and our largest financial institutions,” he said.

Vladimir Putin summed up that now the well-established system of the Russian Federation “has become stronger, more independent and confidently developing on its own basis.”
