Accusing Cardinal Karol Wojtyła of Krakow or later Pope John Paul II of covering up pedophilia in the church is simply reprehensible, Education and Science Minister Przemysław Czarnek said on Monday.
The head of the Ministry of State and National Education, referring to TVP3 Lublin on Monday about the allegations against Cardinal Karol Wojtyła and Pope John Paul II, said there was “no doubt that Karol Wojtyła, Cardinal of Cracow, regretted more than once of one of his personal decisions in the cast or naming someone in this or that parish.”
As he noted, there is no president of a city in Poland and a mayor who would not regret choosing “this or that school principal”.
There is no man who would not make a mistake, but to put forward the proposition that some mistakes lead him to be accused as Cardinal of Cracow or later Pope John Paul II of covering up pedophilia in the Church is simply reprehensible
– he said, adding that the attack on John Paul II “is a systematic action” based on “complete falsehoods”.
PO campaign
Referring to recent attacks among teenagers, the beating of a 16-year-old in Zamość and the beating in Pruszków, he stated that “this is the effect of a systematic separation of people from values in the spirit of ‘do what you want’. . That is why – according to Czarnek – they must react.
This is PO’s campaign move and we won’t shut up
– added.
Member of Parliament Jacek Czerniak (left) who took part in the program stated that St. John Paul II “would have defended himself”.
There is no need to pass resolutions in defense, because this is not the role of the Polish parliament
– he said, recalling that the left voted against the inclusion of the draft resolution on the agenda and that its deputies voted against the resolution.
The left does not attack faith because it is the business of every citizen
he stressed.
Deputy Minister of State Assets Member of Parliament Jan Kanthak (Solidarna Polska) said that John Paul II “was and is our authority and guidepost”, as well as “the most important person in the 20th and 21st centuries”.
The left wants to deprive us – as a society in Poland and the rest of the world – of certain signposts, ethics and morality
he said.
We are dealing with a culture war aimed at destroying the Church
he noticed.
According to MP Jan Łopata (Polish coalition), it is no coincidence that this “atomic bomb” – as he called the report on John Paul II – appeared at this time. “It was definitely used specifically at the time. Who is behind this, we will surely find out in a while, ”he suggested.
According to MP Jarosław Sachajko (Kukiz’15), what is happening at the moment is “pure villainy”, the report was not accidentally published to help the opposition “sulfur the church” and “get to the bottom of it”.
