Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko thanked his Iranian counterpart Ibrahim Raisi for strengthening cooperation between the two states, transmits BelTA. During his visit to Tehran and during his meeting with the Iranian president, he noted that this was possible thanks to the leader of the republic.

“To be honest, maybe because of me, we somehow weakened our attention to the Iranian state because of Belarus, we had to go through this period – maybe a period when relations were not so intense. This period is characterized by realizing how much we need each other, how closely we need to cooperate in this world,” added Lukashenka.

Raisi also pointed out that Belarus and Iran are constantly strengthening their interaction. He also added that he saw a certain breakthrough in the relations between the two states.

“Your visit to Iran will give a serious impetus to the development of our bilateral relations,” Raisi said.
