The Onet.pl portal describes the doubts that will arise among teachers after the broadcast of TVN’s “Franciszkańska 3” material, which is the memory of St. John Paul II. The Minister of Education and Science, Przemysław Czarnek, responded to the publication.
In such a ‘contextual’ discussion of John Paul II’s biography, if I omit doubts about his person, it will be artificial for students. They will immediately feel the artificiality
– says Onet Dariusz Chętkowski, a Polish philologist who works at secondary schools in Łódź.

For today’s youth, the Pope is a man of a monument. They were born after his death. They say he was wise, that they had heard something, but the religion lessons did not give them the opportunity to learn the teachings of John Paul II. I consider this a big mistake
– emphasizes Marek Jędrychowski, a teacher from the 9th secondary school in Wrocław, in an interview with Onet.
I asked my students how they see the report on John Paul II. Are they agitated? Do they, like some politicians, think that this is against the Polish raison d’être? How do they handle it? Some saw the images, some homes talked about it. They said they wanted to know the truth. There has been a lot of talk about pedophilia in recent years. They believe that all these issues should be clarified to the end
Jedrychowski points out.
The same teacher believes that the resolution passed by the Sejm in defense of the good name of St. John Paul II shows that the rulers “are not interested in investigating what the Pope knew about pedophilia in the Church”.
Interestingly, in this context there is also criticism of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, who was a student of Jędrychowski in the past.
This is my pedagogical failure. The man is just ashamed of him
thunders the teacher.
Can there be any doubts about a more tendentious approach to the matter? And, moreover, with the participation of a person who, due to the work of a teacher, has to exercise some restraint.
Black’s reaction
From the text of Onet “What about discussing the Pope at school? The teacher talked to the students about John Paul II: they said they wanted to know the truth,” said Minister of Education and Science, Przemysław Czarnek.
Ladies and gentlemen. Allegations, manipulations, UBC counterfeits are not true. And against the backdrop of the sheer magnitude of Karol Wojtyła/John Paul II’s outstanding and proven performance, this is just total misinformation. This is not allowed at school
– wrote the head of the Ministry of Education and Science.
