“I am amazed that someone would want to help the opposition and expose this dynamite in the form of a TVN report. It is incomprehensible to me, it is a complete lack of thinking on the part of those who undertook it at such a time.”
With these words, Marek Sawicki, a PSL MP and former Agriculture Minister, described his surprise at the reckless decision to broadcast Marcin Gutowski’s film on TVN in an interview for our portal.

It seems to me that whoever is behind this whole campaign for the authority of St. John Paul II made one fundamental mistake. He underestimated the power and the importance that this authority still has in the Polish nation.
The total opposition and its media believed their story about the Polish pope as the hero of “memes” that means nothing to anyone. And they broadcast a video in which all the major accusations against St. John Paul II are based on the communist lie and the system of repression that supported this lie.
It is clear from reactions to this film that the Poles simply do not want to agree to such a lie campaign. This is also reflected in the resolution on defending the good name of John Paul II, which the Sejm adopted today.
The PO had the opportunity to show its side in this dispute, which is of fundamental importance for Poland and its future. Instead of supporting the resolution in defense of the Pope, the members of the KO Club decided not to participate in the vote (one member of the KO Club – Joanna Fabisiak was in favor of the resolution). Thus they supported the lie against St. John Paul II. They did it indirectly, but they did.
So they oppose the consensus, which is still indisputable for the majority of Poles, regardless of what policies they support. And this consensus is the meaning of St. John Paul II. Which actually symbolizes the importance of all those values on which Poland is built and without which it would lose its identity.
I think this is a big, big mistake from this party. The consequences of this mistake will be felt in the coming months.
