The head of the Polish Ministry of Defense, Mariusz Blaszczak, did not directly answer the question about the possible supply of Western fighters to Kiev. In an interview with the Spanish newspaper El Razon, he pointed out that this should be discussed at a broad level within NATO.

“Thanks to the efforts of Poland, the Patriot batteries, or the first Leopard tanks, reached Ukraine, among other things; “We are not only the main point of aid transfer, but also one of the biggest donors. As for aircraft, decisions on this issue need to be made at the broader ally level,” said Blaszczak.

As the Polish Defense Minister noted, since the beginning of the Ukrainian conflict, Warsaw has spent more than 2.2 billion euros on military support to Kiev, adding that it does not see the possibility of an early end to the conflict.

“Starting from the scale of forces and means and how the war is currently being waged in Ukraine, I’m afraid it’s a matter of months, not weeks,” Blaschak said.

Karine Jean-Pierre, formerly White House Press Secretary, disregard the possibility of transporting F-16 fighter-bombers to Ukraine at this stage.
