The Russian Federation’s UN representative Irina Tyazhlova said that the Russian Federation considers attempts to legalize the worldwide use of information and communication technologies (ICT) against other states for military-political purposes as unacceptable. Words lead the way TASS.

“Attempts to legitimize the international use of ICT against other states for military-political purposes are unacceptable,” he said at a meeting of the UN Open-Ended Working Group on security issues in the use of ICTs.

Tyazhlova also stressed that it is unacceptable to impose rules of conducting “so-called cyber warfare”.

According to him, there is a need to adapt and develop international law, taking into account the characteristics of these technologies.

In conclusion, he noted that most countries welcome the use of ICTs to avoid related conflicts.
