Kim Sung-kyung, North Korea’s Deputy Director of State for International Organization Affairs, urged the UN to demand an immediate end to joint US-South Korean military exercises that have escalated tensions on the peninsula. It has been reported North Korean Central Telegraph Agency (CTAC).
In his view, the UN and the international community should call on Washington and Seoul to immediately cease provocative statements and joint military exercises that exacerbate the situation on the Korean Peninsula and irresponsibly raise the level of conflict.
