On Thursday in Helsinki I will talk to Prime Minister Sanna Marin about free abortion for Polish women in Finland, New Left co-chair MEP Robert Biedroń told PAP. Other topics of discussion will also be: aid to war refugees from Ukraine. And wouldn’t it be better if the left stayed with this last topic? Apparently those are the “priorities”…
The head of the Finnish government, Sanna Marin, is the leader of the Social Democratic Party of Finland, which – like the New Left – is a member of the Party of European Socialists (PSE). Both parties belong to the same group in the European Parliament – the European Alliance of Socialists and Democrats.
According to Biedroń, “the situation of Polish women will change for the better if the left comes to power.”
This will happen in less than half a year. But there is nothing to wait for. Therefore, one of the main topics discussed at the meeting will be Finland’s support for free and safe abortion for Polish women in Finnish gynecological offices.
the politician told PAP. He added that his formation wants Polish women to have the opportunity to undergo a free procedure in the territory of our Finnish friends.
Other topics that will be discussed by the left-wing delegation include: Finnish scholarships for Polish women who have an idea for their own business; teacher exchange, training for teachers to showcase the Finnish educational model in Poland; increasing the number of student exchange programs between Poland and Finland or supporting the achievement of climate neutrality.
In addition, we will also talk with the Prime Minister of Finland about the situation of Russian aggression against Ukraine and about the support program for refugees and people caring for refugees
said Biedron.
In addition to the New Left co-chair, the delegation will include Krzysztof Śmieszek and Beata Maciejewska, deputy heads of the Left Caucus, and MPs Wanda Nowicka and Katarzyna Kretkowska.
Abortion diplomacy?
So it seems that Biedroń intends to practice abortion diplomacy. It is abortion that is placed in the foreground by Dutch politicians, and refugees in the background. This is evident, for example, from the activity of the MEP on social media. This tells us a lot about the state and goals of the left.
We don’t have to wait to come to power in the fall. We will help the citizens oppressed by PiS now!
– Biedroń wrote on Twitter in recent days and also retweeted other posts about the “mission” on abortion. Refugees from Ukraine are hard to find there.
So the MEP is not ashamed to write such words when real oppression (Russian) can be seen in the East?!
Judgment of the Constitutional Court
The anti-abortion laws in force in Poland since the 1990s have been amended as a result of the Constitutional Court ruling in 2020. Formerly in force since 1993, the Law on Family Planning, Protection of the Human Fetus and Conditions of Admissibility termination of pregnancy, the so-called Abortion Compromise, made abortion possible in three cases: when the pregnancy is a threat to the woman’s life or health, when the pregnancy is the result of a prohibited act (rape, incest) and in the case of serious and irreversible fetal damage or an incurable disease that threatens her. to live. It was the last premise to be declared unconstitutional by the Constitutional Tribunal in October 2020.
