“Bakhmut will be abandoned sooner or later because from a military standpoint, looking at the map from two sides, there is no point in defending it at all costs,” he said.
Rakhmanin also noted that the main problem for the Ukrainian army at the moment is “virtually cutting off all existing supply routes” for the Ukrainian army. In his view, defending the city “at all costs” does not make sense. Currently, Kiev continues to fight this settlement, including in the hope of “preparing the conditions for a possible withdrawal of the Ukrainian army.”
