Vucic says West is ready to discuss Kosovo plan

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on national television: RTS on the readiness of the country’s authorities to recognize the independence of a partially recognized republic and its entry into the UN, as well as the readiness of the European Union to discuss the implementation of a solution plan in Kosovo.

According to the head of state, he and Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti were unable to agree on a “French-German” solution proposal during talks in Brussels on 27 February.

“I do not want and cannot talk about mutual recognition and Kosovo’s accession to the UN. For everything else, I am open to negotiations,” he said.

According to the politician, he has repeatedly spoken about this, including with French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

“As long as I am President, I will not sign or accept official or unofficial recognition of Kosovo or Kosovo’s membership in the UN,” he said.
