“Bartosz Rybak, a close associate of the Minister of Education Przemysław Czarnek, celebrated a grand birthday at the Wrocław Opera. His guests received free invitations to the performance and afterwards they entertained late into the night, reported Wrocław’s Gazeta Wyborcza. ‘It was Czarnek’s assistant’s birthday. A party at the opera, a cardinal among the guests, Wirtualna Polska added. The article disturbed:
The Minister of Education and Science took part in an unusual birthday party at the Wrocław Opera. Guests at the event were joined by Bayer Full. The band’s leader Sławomir Świerzyński even sang “Knitting Panties” in Chinese. PiS politicians, university rectors and a German cardinal also appeared at the event.
Is it then a real “affair”, business, debauchery and confusion of tastes? Prof. Czarnek explains that things are completely different:
What nonsense. Sz. I inform you:
I was in Wrocław on February 17, not February 24
I was at Wrocław University of Science and Technology and DCOPiH.
In the evenings, among other things, I attended the Bohème opera with the rectors
There was no Bayer Full performance and I didn’t hear their song there, although like many I also like such music.
The birthday boy – Bartosz Rybak also spoke. His statement on Facebook reads:
Thank you very much for your interest in my birthday – I would like to emphasize again that the costs of its organization have been paid entirely from private funds. At the same time, I would like to inform you that the events of PO activists are totally wrong – Minister Przemysław Czarnek and his wife left us very quickly, one hour after the end of “Bohème” and they were not present during Mr Świerzyński’s vocal performance.
According to our information, the leader of the Bayer Full team was a private guest of Bartosz Rybak; thus there was no “appearance” by the Bayer Full team. He only sang as part of a toast – long after Minister Czarnek left.
Other comments on this matter are also worth noting:
During Minister Czarnek’s visit to Wrocław, very important infrastructure investments were agreed in the Lower Silesian Oncology Center, carried out by the Technical University of Wrocław.
The official communiqué on the visit of the Minister of Education and Science in Wrocław emphasizes the substantive significance of the visit:
“Minister Przemysław Czarnek met with the academic community of Wrocław University of Science and Technology. During the visit, the head of the Ministry of Education and Science participated in a presentation on the preparation of the university for the start of medical education.
The head of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage spoke to the university authorities about preparations for the start of medical training. The discussion included human resources and infrastructural resources of the Wrocław University of Technology, as well as partnership and cooperation with Wrocław hospitals.
It will be the first university in Poland that – I am deeply convinced – will have the opportunity to train doctors – stressed the Minister of Education and Science.
The meeting also presented the vision of interdisciplinary research in the field of medical technology and the long-term vision of the development of the scientific and teaching staff and community of medical students at Wrocław University of Technology.
As the head of the Ministry of State and National Education and Science noted, estimates show that there is a shortage of 30,000 to 60,000 jobs in Poland. doctors. The way to fill staff shortages is to train more doctors: – What is the way to fill these gaps in the medical staff? The only thing that is possible is a substantial increase in the number of places for students who want to study medicine, the minister emphasized.
During his visit to the Wrocław University of Science and Technology, Przemysław Czarnek, the Minister of Education and Science, presented symbolic checks to the university authorities. These are funds intended for:
PLN 40,341,500 – increase of the grant amount to increase the salaries of university employees;
3,061,917.77 PLN – Program “Implementation doctorate” for the academic year 2022/2023 (PLN 2,207,509); implementation of the task “Increase of computing power of OPI PIB along with the improvement of user access to ICT systems carried out for the Ministry of Science and Higher Education” (PLN 854,408.77)
The visit to the Wrocław University of Science and Technology was preceded by a meeting between the head of the Ministry of Education and Science and the management of the Lower Silesian Center of Oncology, Pulmonology and Hematology. The facility is one of seven hospitals that will collaborate in establishing and leading the Faculty of Medicine at Wrocław University of Science and Technology.
So the whole thing is another “fake news” directed at Prof. Przemyslaw Czarnek. The whole thing gives the impression of an organized campaign aimed at politically targeting the minister of education and science.
