The detention of Włodzimierz Karpiński is another action by the services in connection with the massive waste scandal in the Warsaw magistrate. Millions of bribes are at stake here, PiS spokesman Rafał Bochenek said.
Karpiński was an important PO politician
On Monday, CBA agents arrested Włodzimierz Karpiński, former finance minister in the PO-PSL government, currently secretary of the capital Warsaw. of Warsaw, said the Secretary of State in the Prime Minister’s Chancellery, Stanisław Żaryn.
Rafał Bochenek stressed at a press conference in Krakow that Karpiński was “an important Civic Platform politician”.

PiS spokesperson noted.
He expressed the hope that the services will follow this “procedure” very closely. As he added, he is also counting on Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski to speak on this issue.
He is responsible for the situation in municipal companies and must also react to it in one way or another

Arrests in the corruption scandal
Secretary of State at the Prime Minister’s Chancellery, Stanisław Żaryn, announced that Karpiński is a suspect in the investigation, which includes Mr. former Deputy Finance Minister Rafał Baniak.
Rafał Baniak, as well as Artur P., Wojciech S. and Waldemar K. were arrested and charged in early February this year. The former deputy finance minister and two entrepreneurs are suspected of concluding contracts worth PLN 600 million with the Municipal Cleaning Company in Warsaw.
Baniak heard allegations in the Silesian department of the PK, among other things, of leading an organized criminal group and invoking influence. By court verdict, he and two entrepreneurs were detained for three months. As his lawyer said, the former deputy minister did not admit to the alleged actions.
Karpiński’s lawyer, Michał Królikowski, said his client agreed to the disclosure of his name and image.
