Kiev today is the capital of freedom, the easternmost fortress of all free Europe; is a place every leader of the free world should visit, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said in a Sunday podcast.
Russia does not understand that it is impossible to destroy a nation that wants freedom. Today Kiev is the capital of freedom, it is the easternmost fortress of all Europe, of all free Europe. This is a place every leader of the free world should have on their travel map this year
That’s what Prime Minister Morawiecki said in a podcast recorded after his return from Ukraine.
The Prime Minister stressed that his visit to Kiev had strengthened his conviction that “victory is not only necessary, but also possible”. He added that in his opinion the war that has been going on for a year has hardened the Ukrainians, who are getting stronger every month.
I went there to tell every Ukrainian, every Ukrainian woman that they are there – you are not alone. I was going to make sure that Poland and Europe are behind them, that we will support Ukraine to the end of this story, to victory over Russia. The sooner the better
– he said.
Zelensky’s transformation
Morawiecki also referred to the change that had taken place in the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.
In recent months he has become not so much a flesh-and-blood politician as a true, outstanding statesman
he assessed.
There are no shoes in it, but humility, devotion to duty, and service. He is one of the absolute greatest leaders, leaders of the 21st century. At the same time, President Zelensky is sincerely grateful to allies, and especially to our country
he stressed.
According to the prime minister, the strength of Polish-Ukrainian relations “scares Moscow”. That is why their propaganda tries at all costs to drive a wedge between our nations.
This is also why the main Russian propagandists should be on the sanctions lists and Poland will strive for it with all its might
said Morawiecki.
Visit to Kyiv
On Friday, one year after the start of the large-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Morawiecki went to Kiev. The head of the Polish government, together with the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Szmychal, laid flowers at the wall in memory of those who died for Ukraine. The Prime Minister also met with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
At that time, Ukraine also received the first four Polish Leopard 2A4 tanks. Soon we will deliver more
announced the prime minister. Morawiecki also announced that Poland would also provide “very good PT-91 tanks”.
Another 60 tanks will come to Ukraine
noted Morawiecki.
