One of the leaders of the left, deputy chairman of the Sejm and co-chair of the New Left, Włodzimierz Czarzasty, insists in an interview with PAP that this will be the first such broad agreement ahead of the election.
Other parties, trade unions, urban movements, feminist movements, climate movements, youth movements, women’s rights organizations will be invited to this agreement
– he said.
We intend that eventually it will be an agreement of many entities – both nationally and locally
– added.
Tsarzasty did not exclude the possibility of talks in an even broader opposition formula.
But it’s not up to us, it’s up to our partners. It takes four to tango
– he said.
They want to form a strong leftist list
In an interview with PAP, Together party co-chair Magdalena Biejat recalled that the National Council of its formation had taken a position in early February calling for the establishment of a strong leftist list.
Because only a good result from the left guarantees the development of public services and the blocking of social austerity
she stressed.
The inclusion of smaller left-wing parties in the Nieuw Links en Samen coalition is an important step in this direction. And I hope not the last. We are open to trade unions, civil society organizations and activists
said Beyat.
“A step towards uniting left circles”
The chairman of the Polish Socialist Party, Wojciech Konieczny, stressed that signing an agreement with other parties is valuable for his formation and is a certain empowerment of the left.
If this happens, it is very likely that I will be part of the collaboration in the Lewica club
– said PAP. Konieczny left the left club in December 2021 and from February this year. he is a non-associate senator.
According to Labor Union leader Waldemar Witkowski, Monday’s event in the Senate “is an example of uniting and it is a step towards uniting left circles.”
