There is a magic word we use in NATO. It’s the word deterrence. These purchases are so that we do not have to fight – this is what President Andrzej Duda said about the purchase of HIMARS in an interview for “Gazeta Polska”, an excerpt of which was published on Saturday on the independent portal.pl
There is a magic word we use in NATO. It’s the word deterrence. These purchases are so we don’t have to fight. This is a paradox. You spend billions on guns so you don’t have to fight
– said President Andrzej Duda in an interview for “Gazeta Polska”, an excerpt of which was published on niezalezna.pl.
Living next to a burglar
The president also responded to the comment that, according to some retired military personnel, an army in peacetime should be compact, and that an army of 300,000 men is “madness.”
If you live in a building that is home to both a notorious thief and a burglar, you have two choices. Or have nothing and live in constant poverty. Or put on strong locks, buy a shotgun and sleep tight. We buy strong locks and a shotgun, hoping that it will not be profitable for anyone to attack us
said the chairman.
The full interview will be published in “Gazeta Polska” on Wednesday.
