Ukraine is studying Chinese proposals to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, Kiev disagrees with at least one point of this plan. This was reported by the publication “The Truth of Ukraine”, with reference to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba.
“There is at least one element where we disagree on unilateral sanctions,” Kuleba said.
According to him, while the Ukrainian side sees the sanctions as an important tool, he thinks that the PRC’s plan is generally interesting. “We are studying, we must examine it thoroughly and draw our own conclusions,” said the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
He also added that all such initiatives must comply with the UN General Assembly resolution on “principles of just peace” adopted in Ukraine on 23 February. 141 countries voted for the adoption of the document, five against and 38 abstained. The resolution envisages the complete withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukrainian territory and the cessation of hostilities.
February 24, Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs introduced A 12-point plan to resolve the crisis in Ukraine. It included calls for a ceasefire, the need to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries, the resumption of direct dialogue between Moscow and Kiev, and other steps.
