“Everyone thought Ukraine would fall in three days, in 72 hours. Ukraine did not fall today, thanks to the heroism of its defenders, thanks to the heroism of the Ukrainian soldiers, but also thanks to the support that the free world offers to Ukraine, so that the imperial ambitions to enslave other nations will never be revived become. Today we say Ukraine must win, that’s why we support Ukraine,” President Andrzej Duda stressed during a speech in Arkady Kubicki, calling on all NATO countries to continue to pour military and humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
Ukraine is not alone
We meet in Warsaw, the capital of Poland, at the Royal Castle, which is a symbol of the splendor of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, a symbol of the splendor of Poland in the 17th and 18th centuries. In the castle where the Polish Sejm debated, where the Constitution of May 3 was adopted. The first constitution in Europe and the second in the world, which made a pioneering contribution to the development of the free world, our current civilization. Destroyed during World War II, the symbol of the Republic of Poland burned in front of the whole world and then lay in ruins under the German occupation, here Warsaw insurgents died fighting against the hated occupier. And when we were in the Soviet sphere of influence, it was rebuilt with the efforts of the whole nation
– pointed out President Andrzej Duda.
Today we watch burning cities, hear terrible news about Russian terror, see people killed, killed. (…) Russia wants to become an empire again, to fulfill its ambitions to enslave other nations. We don’t have our permission, the permission of the free world. The American president made a spectacular gesture. It was in Kiev, on Ukrainian territory, where the war is going on. He showed that the free world and its leader are not afraid of anything, that Ukraine is not alone. (…) This is a great sign. We are always together with Ukraine, from the very beginning
said the Polish president.
Ukraine must win
Everyone thought Ukraine would fall in three days, in 72 hours. Ukraine did not fall today, thanks to the heroism of its defenders, thanks to the heroism of the Ukrainian soldiers, but also thanks to the support that the free world offers to Ukraine, so that the imperial ambitions to enslave other nations will never be revived become. Today we say Ukraine must win, that’s why we support Ukraine
– emphasized Andrzej Duda.
Thank you to the United States, to all NATO countries that send aid, including the military ones. It’s extremely important. I thank the allies and the US for strengthening our security – NATO’s eastern flank, so that no one would think of attacking our country. Thanks to the presence of the US military, allied armies and thanks to the sensible policy of strengthening the Polish army in recent years, we are becoming more secure and making potential attackers less and less confident. I believe that this ruthless Russian certainty will be punished and crushed in Ukraine, that Russia will have to leave the Ukrainian land it occupies in shame, that Ukraine will win, that Ukraine’s defenders will win, that this bloodshed, the terrible sacrifice of the Ukrainian people, will result in a great victory.
– said the Polish president.
No freedom without solidarity
We Poles have the experience of helping each other. One with each other, said John Paul II, is solidarity, never one against the other. Today, the reflex of human solidarity leads my compatriots to help their neighbors from Ukraine. Thank you again for opening your homes
– said Andrzej Duda.
I call on all European and NATO leaders to show solidarity with Ukraine, to support Ukraine at all times, to send military support so that the defenders have something to fight for. Don’t hesitate, don’t be afraid. There is no longer room for business as usual with Russia. Where blood flows, an honest man does no business there, it must be stopped at all costs. Today it can only be stopped with modern armaments. I thank President Biden for his courage, his determination. I thank the US, the Congress for donations to Ukraine, for their great support. For the fact that Ukraine is fighting thanks to this US military aid. Others also support, because that is NATO’s role, to defend the free world, to support the free world. We are and will be in solidarity with Ukraine, there is no freedom without solidarity, long live free Ukraine! Long live the alliance between the Republic of Poland and the USA! Long live NATO! Long live the free world! Long live Poland! No freedom without solidarity!
– concluded President Andrzej Duda.
