“We know the crime rate of this regime, so certain risks are taken into account. This is especially true for possible provocations. So far nothing of this kind has happened, but we have to be ready for all scenarios,” said Stanisław Żaryn, State Secretary at the Prime Minister’s Chancellery, Deputy Minister, Coordinator of Special Services and Government Plenipotentiary for Information Security . space of the Republic of Poland, in an interview with the wPolityce.pl portal.

wPolityce.pl: President Joe Biden’s visit to Kiev and Warsaw is a huge logistical effort and a major challenge. Did Polish secret services take part in this operation?
Stanislaw Zaryn: I can only say in general terms that our cooperation at such events is self-evident. Such cooperation between Polish and partner services is also a huge advantage. The trust between our services and related services is at a very high level. With such major logistical challenges, this all pays off, so that such visits can be organized in a safe manner.
So far has Russia tried to disrupt Joe Biden’s visit to Poland? Were there provocations?
Such a visit carries a much higher risk than a year ago. We are aware that Russia analyzes very carefully what is happening in Central and Eastern Europe. He looks at all the signals keeping the West united and his aid to Ukraine. This is against the interests of the Kremlin. You could say that the Russian perspective is to somehow discredit this visit and show it as a big mistake, to find a reason to make Poland look ridiculous. We know the crime rate of this regime, so certain risks are taken into account. This is especially true for possible provocations. Nothing like this has happened so far, but we have to be ready for all scenarios.
The media plays the role of weapon and tool in today’s world. In Russia, the attack on Poland, Ukraine and the US is underway, but Biden’s visit to Kiev surprised Russian propagandists.
There was some surprise in the propaganda, but soon it started spreading two typical stories. On the one hand, it turned out that the US president’s visit to Kiev “means nothing for the situation at the very front”. Reports were circulated indicating that this visit in no way contradicted the “success” seen by Russian propaganda in the context of the war in Ukraine. On the other hand, we saw throw-ins aimed at the Polish public, which were an attempt to demonstrate that Biden’s visit to Kiev is evidence of the collapse of relations between Poland and the United States and alleged evidence of the degeneration of the role of Poland in the international arena. . Russian media argued that Biden’s visit to Poland was a “necessary evil”. It was claimed that if Biden had not visited Kiev, there would have been no visit to Warsaw.
Unfortunately, this also comes from the mouth of some Polish opposition politicians
This is a typical throw-in calculated to polarize Polish society and resonate in those environments that are pro-Russian or under the influence of political brutality. These are actions typical of Russian services on visits of such important importance.
It is clear that Russia is helpless in the face of Joe Biden’s visit to Poland and Ukraine. It used to be unthinkable. The will of Russia absolutely had to be taken into account. Are we dealing with the domination of the West over the East?
This visit is an expression of the strength of the West. It showed the world that Russia’s attempts to isolate Ukraine and divide its allies have failed. When it became known in recent days that President Biden would go to Central and Eastern Europe, the Kremlin reinforced the propaganda message. This was the purpose of launching exercises from structures related to the nuclear arsenal. There were calls implying that “Poland should be bombed”. Such hybrid activities served to stir emotions and perhaps even destabilize the schedule of President Biden’s visit. However, all this failed, which is also a demonstration of the strength and determination of the United States and the entire coalition of countries that support Ukraine.
