The Head of the Office of the President of the Republic of Poland, Marcin Mastalerek, rejected claims aired on the Polsat News program Polityczne Graffiti that President Andrzej Duda’s invitation to mark the second anniversary of the Ukraine war had to be cancelled. He stated clearly that there was no invitation extended, nor was there any plan to cancel a visit.

According to Mastalerek, there was no invitation for the war anniversary, neither for last year’s first anniversary nor for this year’s second. He noted that the presence of the European Commission president would have followed the format used by the prime minister, and questioned how those sharing such information could picture the President of the Republic of Poland attending in that particular setting. The remarks underscored a broader point about the accuracy of reports circulating in political media.

Absurd information

The president had a recorded interview on February 23 during which he recalled being in Kiev a few hours before the Russian aggression began. This recollection, Mastalerek noted, was part of a broader narrative about the timing of the president’s movements and the sequence of events in the region.

He described the information circulating about a possible invitation as nitpicking and said he did not understand the source of these claims. In his view, some outlets were misrepresenting or selectively presenting facts to fit a particular storyline.

In addressing the idea that President Zelensky would invite someone to the border and to Kiev simultaneously, Mastalerek called the notion absurd. He emphasized that such a scenario does not align with the actual arrangements and timing of visits, and he urged readers to consider the veracity of sensational assertions about high-profile figures.
