“Warsaw residents’ opposition to the Tempo 30 zone or the expansion of paid parking zones in Saska Kępa shows that they prefer not to implement the proposals in the report of the C40 Cities group, says Filip Frąckowiak, a PiS councilor in Warsaw, in an interview with the wPolityce.pl portal.
“Dziennik Gazeta Prawna” describes the report of the C40 Cities group, to which Warsaw also belongs, with recommendations on the implementation of climate policies, e.g. by limiting meat consumption, limiting the use of private vehicles, reducing the amount of clothing purchased and increasing the reduce the number of cars on the street, it caused a real storm in Poland. Can Warsaw really try to achieve these goals?
I don’t trust President Trzaskowski. He has led Warsaw in this direction since the beginning of his tenure. Only three years ago he vowed that there would be no closure of Śródmieście, and now it is clear that he is moving in this direction in several ways. Either it’s the Tempa 30 zone or it’s the new pedestrian zones and street closures. First there was Five Horns Square, and now there’s a plan to reduce car traffic at ul. Krucza. Therefore, I think that these proposals are close to the policies of the Warsaw City Hall
he makes clear Filip Frackowiak.
“Some KO politicians would advocate such solutions”
Would the Warsaw authorities want to administratively reduce the consumption of meat and dairy products by the city’s residents?
I am convinced that some KO politicians are in favor of such solutions. How could it be introduced? It seems that food in Poland can only be rationed in case of one of the states of emergency. Otherwise, you cannot limit people’s purchasing options, unless they would introduce such laws after a possible takeover of power in Poland. Here I will ask a direct question: if the party, whose vice-president is Rafał Trzaskowski, wins the election, would it want to introduce food rationing?
asks the PiS alderman.
