In 3-4 months we will communicate what we want to go to the Poles, what we want to offer the Poles, PiS General Secretary Krzysztof Sobolewski said on Friday. He added that PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński would return to tour the country in 2-3 weeks.
Preparations for the elections
The PiS politician on program one of Polish Radio was asked about the issue of the election campaign and electoral lists, eg whether they will have coalition partners.
Sobolewski replied that there are still elements that will soon be the subject of coalition talks.
Conversations with Kukiz’15 are certainly such a perspective
he pointed it out.
He notes that the question of what the electoral lists will look like “is a few months’ perspective”.
He pointed out that elections should be held in October, so that the registration of the lists should take place at the beginning of September.
Before us are these topics; talks are ongoing and will continue quietly
he said.
When asked when to expect a PiS campaign event, Sobolewski indicated that it’s a matter of 3-4 months as far as program assumptions are concerned.
Then we will communicate with what we want to go to Poland, what we want to offer Poland, and at the same time recall what we have achieved since 2015.
said Sobolewski.
When asked about the PiS president’s return to tour the country, Sobolewski said it was “a matter of 2-3 weeks”.
MPs on PiS lists?
Discussions on the form of the electoral lists are still ahead of us – said PAP Secretary General of Law and Justice Krzysztof Sobolewski, when asked whether members of the party parliament would be on it. “All variants are on the table,” he added.
A few days ago PiS MP Marek Suski stated in RMF FM that the current PiS MPs are popular people and if they were on the lists in the national elections it would certainly be a boost.
From which we can draw a simple conclusion that I would like our colleagues to be on our lists in this election
he said.
Sobolewski, who is responsible for party structures and participates in the preparation of electoral lists, noted that “discussions on the details of the form of the lists are still ahead of us”.
Asked about the possible start of PiS members of the European Parliament in the parliamentary elections, Sobolewski replied: “We are not ruling anything out, all variants are on the table.”
Decisions on this will be made by the party leadership in due course
he announced.
Former Prime Minister, now PiS MEP Beata Szydło asked on Thursday on Radio Plus if she would return to national politics, she replied that all PiS members would be very involved in the election campaign.
We will do everything we can to win
she stressed.
It’s time to discuss what the lists are going to look like, whether we’re going to be on these lists with our coalition partners – I hope that’s going to happen – who’s going to run is still ahead of us and these will be decisions that will be made of course, especially in the party leadership
added Szydlo.
At the moment I am focusing on the work here (in the EP), because a lot of important things for Poland are happening here, and we know the attitude of the European Commission and the European Parliament, so we really have a lot of challenges here
said Szydlo.
Parliamentary elections will take place in the autumn of 2023, according to the election calendar.
