“I am taking advantage of this exceptional circumstance that happened to us, which is the visit of President Biden,” said President Andrzej Duda on the program “Gość Wiadomości”.
The president visited the UK today, where he spoke with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. The head of state was asked about the purpose of the diplomatic offensive.
Strengthening Poland’s security. Re-strengthening the security of Poland and re-enhancing the security of Poland. This is the most important task I have set myself. I am taking advantage of this unique circumstance that has happened to us, which is President Biden’s visit. And at the same time the meeting of the Bucharest Nine within NATO. Exactly the eastern flank of NATO.
– said Andrzej Duda.
Invitation from the Secretary General of NATO.
I hope that the Secretary General of NATO, whom I invited to this summit yesterday, will also come. This is an opportunity to talk about security in our part of Europe. We will continue to help Ukraine, because it must be done together
– argued the President of the Republic of Poland.

Andrzej Duda spoke with the Prime Minister of Great Britain.
It is a very important ally. It is an ally that actually works to strengthen our security
he said.
Leopards Another topic was the question of transferring tanks to Ukraine.
I am satisfied. I also thanked the Prime Minister of Great Britain today because almost at the same time they announced their decision to send Challenger tanks to Ukraine, whose company stated it. If we add up all these elements, donations of tanks from different countries, which I hope will create a tank brigade (…) and this is a serious gesture, also from the German side. (…) I hope that the tank brigade will be formed and ready for action within a month
said the chairman.
Aircraft for Ukraine
When asked about the transfer of fighters to Ukraine, Andrzej Duda replied:
I reassure everyone. Yes, Ukraine can be helped, today we still have MiG-29s, which Ukraine can already serve today. (…) If planes have been sent to Ukraine according to NATO standards (…), they need the preparation of pilots and this process takes a long time. (…) I am cautious about extraditing Polish F-16s to Ukraine. (…) We don’t have many.
The president also talked about the idea of creating warehouses for NATO military equipment in Poland.
We have a lot of American equipment in Poland, but I would like to have more of it. (…) I would just like it to be stored in Poland. I wish there were also warehouses for NATO equipment. (…) The process of responding to any threat will be much easier when NATO and Western European forces move without equipment, because the equipment is waiting for them on the ground
– he said.
Biden’s visit
When asked about Joe Biden’s visit to Poland, Andrzej Duda replied:
Above all, she has a powerful weight. It will of course be very nice for everyone, for my compatriots, for me personally, if we hear a good word about us from the President of the United States and we hear a thank you, because it is in a sense a thank you from the free world. (…) It’s nice, but first I look at specific political and not just political aspects of this visit. This strengthens our security.
