More and more statements from opposition politicians and pundits associated with PO suggest that if the opposition seizes power, social programs could disappear. When Marlena Maląg, the Minister of Family and Social Policy, was asked about it in the wPolsce.pl studio, she recalls that before 2015 there were no social programs.
Assessment by PO and opposition politicians of programs for families, as well as senior policies, shows that they underestimate the legitimacy of implementing these programs: 500 plus, 13 and 14 pension. And this shows that when they come to power, they will announce that these programs have not worked, they have failed, so we must abolish them. This is the danger
– said Marlena Maląg, Minister of Family and Social Policy, in the wPolsce.pl studio.
Therefore, we have to show what role these programs played, how they changed the situation of Polish families, that it was an investment in a Polish family, we showed a different perception of the family, we gave it support, new opportunities. Thanks to the 500plus program, many children went on holiday for the first time. Today it seems obvious, but under the PO-PSL government it was not so obvious. After all, in 2015 and before, such programs simply did not exist
– notes Minister Maląg.
It is a mystery how the face of some politicians changes. After all, my predecessor, Mr Kosiniak-Kamysz, who headed the Ministry of Family Affairs and Social Policy, had a great influence on the way Poland could be helped. Today, when he changed his face, he grew a beard, he changed his mind. Then he took away, extended the retirement age, told women to work until age 67 and he had no conscience then and it wasn’t a big deal. Today he wants to protect Poland. But today he need not worry about Poland. The Law and Justice and United Right government is doing this. From the first moment we took over the government in 2015, we have effectively helped the Poles. There are programs: 500 plus, Dobry Start, Family Care Capital, Toddler Plus. But we also have, especially in this difficult year, protection programs such as the anti-inflation shield, surcharges for the purchase of coal or other fuels, setting maximum energy tariffs for 2023, tariffs for gas or system heat, these are real solutions. Poles are not left alone, we don’t say we don’t have a button that affects prices, we don’t ask where the money is buried
