“Broken tibia, cerebral edema and skull fracture’; “gunshot wound to the face”; “tear”; “bleeding into the anterior chamber of the eye” – these are just some of the injuries suffered by the miners who took part in the protests in front of Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa in February 2015 – although many who merely witnessed those events suffered serious injuries.
Wounded in protests for JSW
Opposition politicians react nervously to the exhibition in the Sejm. Marcin Kierwiński shouts about “PiS chutzpah”, Izabela Leszczyna talks about “disgusting PiS propaganda and words that are “not allowed” in Poland. PO leader Donald Tusk argued at a rally with supporters last November that “not a single miner injured.” Are you sure?
Grzegorz Matusiak, Member of Parliament for Law and Justice, supported (and still does) miners who were injured in the events for JSW eight years ago, before he started his political activity. The MP provided me with a list of the injured, drawn up on 11 February 2015, along with the injuries (names and telephone numbers remain with the MP) they sustained. In an interview with our portal, Matusiak drew attention to Izabela Leszczyna’s statement that there were hooligans among the demonstrators, so the police had to use force against them, but their names or surnames were given and their whereabouts were not reported.
List of injured miners
The people whose stories are described below have their names, surnames and seriously damaged health. They deserve the truth.
Martin, 35 years old 11 years of work in the KWK “Zofiówka” mine. Broken lower leg, surgery on Feb. 10, cerebral edema and skull fracture. He was shot from a distance of 4 m, he was an outsider
– I’m reading.
Andrew, 43 years old 15 years of work in the mine. On February 3, 2015, he was shot in the head (left temple). The victim complains of severe headaches, cuts
– Here’s another example.
Patrick: Gunshot wound to the face. The victim complains of a severe headache
I find out from the list.
Gregory: We took part in a peaceful demonstration in front of the JSW headquarters, where we were attacked by police forces protecting the JSW building at the end of the demonstration. I remained calm the whole time. It started like this: first, however, four undercover agents dragged a man, and then the riot police jumped out. No one was attacking anyone at this point, at least where I was standing. The police officers fired blindly, not paying attention to where or at whom. In my case it ended with a bullet in the middle of the forehead. I fell to the floor, I was helped by two gentlemen who helped me up, and then they took me to the emergency room, where the injured man was treated. It turned out that not only I was injured, there were several of us. I would add that the doctors in the ER congratulated me on being “lucky” to have an eye!!!
– and this is the account of another injured miner.
Perhaps it is worth it for KO politicians, led by Donald Tusk, to get acquainted with both the exhibition in the Sejm and the list above, and only then get excited about the topic, which, apparently, is not very comfortable for them .
