Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleksandr Dubinsky said the appointment of Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov to another post should be seen as an attempt by the authorities to “blur” a corruption scandal in the defense department. He wrote this on his Telegram channel.
“The situation regarding the appointment of Reznikov to the Ministry of Strategic Industry turned out to be nothing more than a farce whose purpose was to cover up the corruption scandal,” Dubinsky said.
He noted that Reznikov “covered up corruption” but was not fired, but transferred to another department. This was done to avoid a scandal and to present the situation not as “resignation for theft” but as a staff change due to rotation.
