“The accession treaty states that competences related to forest management in a given country belong only to a given country,” said Dariusz Bąk, Member of Parliament for Law and Justice and Vice-Chairman of the Parliament’s Committee on Environmental Protection, Natural Resources and Forestry. (OSZ), tells the portal wPolityce.pl.
EU and Polish forests
The European Union is once again trying to use the powers of the Member States. This time it’s about forest management.
The European Parliament’s Environment Committee voted in favor of the amendments to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union. Forests would be transferred from national competence to the so-called shared competences.
Politicians from the United Right – both in the government and in the Polish Sejm and the European Parliament, as well as representatives of the State Forests, warn of the dangers involved.
Polish society also does not want to transfer powers. This is evident from the Social Changes survey for wPolityce.pl, which attracted no fewer than 77 percent of people. of respondents said forest management should remain the responsibility of Member States.

“It is certainly not in Poland’s interest.”
We asked PiS Member of Parliament Dariusz Bąk, Vice-President of the Commission for Environmental Protection, Natural Resources and Forestry (OSZ), to comment on this matter.
The accession treaty stipulated that powers relating to forest management in a given country belong only to a given country
our interlocutor remembers.
We are against what the European Union is trying to impose on us so that these powers are shared
– adds the PiS MP.
Where do these kinds of ideas come from?
I do not know where this idea comes from and in whose interest it is, but it is certainly not in Poland’s interest. I am against what the EU is trying to impose on us and that it is trying again to get hold of Polish national property
Buck concludes.
