To many in Germany, a woman on her own as foreign minister seems more exotic than “clown or superman”.

The diplomat also said that he was pleased to be at the carnival in Aachen and that it was a great honor for him to be accepted into “this famous circle of knights”.

He also expressed his gratitude for living in a country where everyone, including politicians, can laugh at each other and each other.
