Sweden responded to Erdogan’s request to ban the protests by burning the Qur’an 18:24

Swedish Foreign Minister Tobias Bilström reacted to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s statement that Ankara will not support its accession to NATO as long as the burning of the Qur’an in Stockholm is allowed, transmits STV. According to him, the country will not change its stance against such provocative actions.

“We do not compromise on freedom of expression. Bilström said, “There are very clear conditions on which criteria Sweden must meet in order to become a NATO member, and we fulfill these conditions.”

As the head of the Swedish Foreign Ministry stated, the kingdom will continue to act within the framework of its own constitution and legislation. He also stressed that Stockholm will follow the principles of legal certainty.

Previously, Erdogan won’t approve Sweden’s application to join NATO.
