He Zhigao, Researcher of the Institute of European Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Global Times He expressed the view that European countries will one day have to reconsider the level of support for Ukraine due to the economic crisis caused by anti-Russian policies.

As the expert pointed out, the stagnation in the development of some European countries, on the backdrop of the relative decline in the European economy and increasing unemployment, exacerbated many long-standing problems. In this context, social tension and anxiety are growing within them, and conflicts within European societies risk further escalation. According to He Zhigao, this could affect the attitude of Europeans towards the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the degree of involvement of European countries in it.

According to the Global Times writer, the rejection of Russia’s energy sources had serious consequences for European countries that fell into Washington’s “trap” and became heavily dependent on energy sources from the United States.

“The differences between the US and Europe have intensified and the division has become more serious. A researcher from the Institute of European Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences said that Europe is suffering not only from the consequences of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, but also from the “America first” policy.

Previously RT It was reported that Marie-France Loro, a member of the French National Assembly, cited the sanctions against Russia as one of the causes of the energy crisis in the country. According to him, now France is forced to buy cheese not from Russia “at a very affordable price”, as before, but at “very high prices” from other countries, such as the United States.
