IAEA chief Rafael Grossi plans to visit Russia at 19:54 February

Rafael Grossi, Director-General of the IAEA, in an interview for the broadcast Policy He announced that he plans to visit Russia again in February.

Grossi explained the possibility of increasing the risk of radiation accidents at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant in the event of intensification of hostilities or simply bombing of the plant in the spring.

The official stressed that a security zone should be created around the ZNPP, which is a necessary condition of the “political will” of both Ukraine and Russia. The IAEA chief urged European foreign ministers to focus their efforts on solving this problem and use communication channels with Kyiv and Moscow to convey the message of the importance of establishing a security zone and preventing a nuclear disaster.
