“We cannot talk about the resumption of normal relations with Turkey without removing the occupation,” Mikdad said at a press conference after his meeting with his Iranian counterpart, Hussein Amir Abdullahian.
The Iranian foreign minister welcomed the idea of possible talks between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Syrian President Bashar Assad. Mikdad added that these negotiations would be possible if “the reasons for the disagreement” were removed.
