As stated, only 21% of EU citizens hold the opposite view. According to the research, Greece, Germany and Croatia are most dissatisfied with the EC’s steps in the energy sector, while Finland, Sweden and Denmark are more loyal to the ministry’s policy.
At the same time, analysts stress that the EC’s argument for the need to intensify its previous efforts in the field of energy policy does not coincide with the opinion of European citizens. Moreover, in their view, since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine, Brussels has focused its energy policy on sanctions against Russian energy carriers, further narrowing Europe’s room for maneuver in the energy market.
