Belgian edition, EU and NATO to announce strengthened cooperation with a new joint declaration Echo.
It was noted that NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, European Council Presidents Charles Michel and European Commission Ursula von der Leyen will sign the third joint declaration on cooperation in Brussels.
The declaration refers to closer cooperation on the ground of conflict in Ukraine. It is stated that European defense should complement NATO’s collective defense.
Military units of European Union and NATO countries will receive facilitated access to Swedish territory for exercises. This is reported by TASS with reference to the government office.
According to the agency, the decision will allow the Swedish armed forces to move freely during joint exercises with NATO and the EU military.
Swedish politicians believe that for parts of the EU and NATO, simplified access to their territory will create an environment of trust and strengthen defense cooperation.
