Italian Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani said that the sixth package of Italian military aid to Ukraine is still under discussion, and that the parliament will be informed before new arms supplies to Ukraine begin. Reported by the Italian edition. Corriere della Sera.

The Minister noted that the sixth aid package for Kiev is still being finalized. Negotiations continue with France on technical support for the supply of air defense systems based on joint Italian-French technologies.

Regarding the role of the USA in these processes, Tajani said, “Negotiations with Washington are continuous and regular, we are an important interlocutor, but weapons were not mentioned.”

Earlier, the newspaper La Repubblica citing a source in Washington, reportedWashington is putting pressure on Rome to supply arms to Kiev.

According to the publication, a telephone conversation took place between Jake Sullivan, US national security adviser, and Francesco Talo, diplomatic adviser to Italian Prime Minister Giorgi Meloni. Representatives of the two countries discussed, among other issues, the supply of weapons to Ukraine.
