Republican Kevin McCarthy, elected Speaker of the US House of Representatives, explained the priorities of the work of the lower house of parliament, without mentioning Ukraine. It has been reported TASS.

According to him, lawmakers are determined to curb the “wasteful spending” of the U.S. administration to lower the prices of food, gas, cars, housing, stem the growth of public debt and lower energy prices.

He also cited the fight against the illegal flow of migrants across the Mexican border and competition with Beijing among the main priorities.

The agency stressed that in his speech he made no mention of the situation in Ukraine and the allocation of funds for aid to Kiev.
