As McCarthy noted, in the congressional elections last November, Americans voted for a new direction for the United States, and now the House of Representatives intends to fulfill its obligations.
He stressed that it is about ensuring a strong economy, security, internal freedom and government accountability.
According to him, lawmakers are determined to curb the “wasteful spending” of the U.S. administration to lower the prices of food, gas, cars, housing, stem the growth of public debt and lower energy prices.
He also cited the fight against the illegal flow of migrants across the Mexican border and competition with Beijing among the main priorities.
The agency stressed that in his speech he made no mention of the situation in Ukraine and the allocation of funds for aid to Kiev.
