Jill Biden, wife of the US President, will have surgery to remove the tumor found during the skin cancer screening study CNN.
White House physician Kevin O’Connor said in a memo released by the First Lady’s office that Jill Biden had a “small skin lesion” over her right eye that doctors recommended removed.
The president’s wife will have Mohs surgery on January 11 at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. In this procedure, a doctor cuts a thin layer of skin to examine for signs of cancer. If malignant cells are found at the edges of the removed tissue, the surgeon removes some of the skin again and sends it back for examination – and this continues until the removed area is “clean”.
Jill Biden is the oldest First Lady in US history at age 71. By the way, she trains at the gym several times a week.
Formerly Jill Biden supported her husband’s decision to run again for president of the United States in 2024.
