Iranian actress Tarane Alidousti, who was detained in December last year on charges of publishing false information and supporting anti-Iranian movements, has been released on bail. Agency reports isna referring to the lawyer of artist Zahra Minui.
Alidusti is best known for her role as Rana in the Oscar-winning movie Salesman (2016).
“My client was released today, January 4, after paying bail,” the human rights activist said.
Mass riots and protests have been going on in Iran since mid-September 2022, on the backdrop of the murder of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini after being detained by police aide. Residents of the country blamed the government for Mahsa’s death.
