US President Joe Biden said the US and South Korea are not currently discussing the participation of US nuclear forces in joint exercises. It has been reported TASS.
Journalists asked Biden if Washington is currently discussing joint nuclear exercises with Seoul.
“No,” Biden said.
Earlier, South Korean President Yoon Seok-yeol said: wants Involving US nuclear forces in joint exercises.
He noted that although nuclear weapons belong to the United States, South Korea and the United States must jointly plan their deployment and information exchange.
Prior to that, South Korean President Yun Sok-yeol announced his readiness to hold a summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, noting that the meeting must address pressing issues to achieve a practical outcome.
President Yong noted that there was disappointment in the previous talks with the North Korean leader in South Korea and that there was no significant result in resolving the conflict afterward.
