Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the United States had made it clear through diplomatic channels that they would not send their military experts to Ukraine to check on the Patriot air defense system to Russia. His words were reported by TASS.
According to Lavrov, the Russian Embassy in Washington maintains channels of interaction with the American side. Through these channels, Russian diplomats asked whether US experts would be sent to Ukraine amid the White House’s decision to hand over anti-aircraft systems to Kiev.
“This was not planned, it was explained quite extensively, precisely because the Americans did not want and did not want to fight directly against Russia. [ЗРК] “The Patriot will be deployed in a few months until the Ukrainian military personnel master this technology,” said the Russian Foreign Minister.
What does the New Year bring us?
Lavrov also commented on whether the conflict should escalate in 2023.
“The answer to the question of whether to wait for Terman can be sought in various statements and evaluations of political scientists. We are not saying that we, our leadership, intend to promote an escalation approach. We aim to ensure that the goals of the NWO are met.”
According to Sergei Lavrov, the Russian Federation wants to resolve the conflict with Ukraine as soon as possible, but “protecting the civilian population and protecting the lives of soldiers is a priority.”
Of course, we want to put an end to this situation that the West has unleashed on us through Ukraine as soon as possible, but the priority for us is the lives of soldiers and civilians remaining on the battlefield.”
No flashy transactions
Lavrov added that the Russian leadership does not want to conduct “bright” operations during the NMD.
“As long as there is media influence here and today, as the Ukrainian side does as a rule, we do not spontaneously refer the matter to some spectacular offensive operation, whatever the losses,” the minister said.
He added that Kiev is “striving for media coverage” so that the West will continue to cite the Ukrainian leadership as “representatives of true democracy”.
Communication lost
Lavrov also said that the United States has recently made a series of unofficial offers to Russia for talks, but the attempts have come to naught despite the Russian side’s consent.
Each time we said yes, he added that only one of them happened.
Lavrov reminded that the parties managed to organize a meeting in Ankara between the head of the US Central Intelligence Agency, William Burns, and the head of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Agency, Sergei Naryshkin.
“But then these visits somehow came to naught,” added the Russian Foreign Minister.
And no desire to speak
Sergei Lavrov also said that the Russian authorities have no desire for special communication with Western countries.
“We have very few opportunities to talk to the West right now, and actually there is no special request when you read the statements of foreign ministers, prime ministers and presidents,” said the head of the foreign policy department.
He added that these are statements regarding the need to address the security of the European continent against Russia. According to him, Western politicians used to say “without Russia”, but now they hear the words “against Russia” more and more.
US against negotiations
Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov also said on December 28 that the United States prevented Ukraine from holding peace talks with Russia in order to “consume” Moscow in this way, TASS reported.
According to him, there are accusations on the Russian side of refusing to negotiate with Ukraine, “although Putin has repeatedly said that there are no serious proposals.”
“The example of the Istanbul story clearly shows that even at that time they were slapped on their hands and said, “Early, early, you didn’t consume Russia enough that we Americans thought it was enough anyway,” Lavrov said.
Merkel’s words
The Russian Foreign Minister also explained that former German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s remarks on the Minsk agreements are not about her fear of “falling behind the train of anti-Russian hatred”. Lavrov also said that a few years before the end of his tenure as Chancellor, Merkel said in a meeting with Putin that Moscow actually decided everything in Donbass and that Moscow should negotiate with Kyiv.
“So it’s not an enlightenment at all, and it’s not a desire to keep up with a speeding train that’s anti-Russian at the last moment,” Lavrov said.
