Washington Police Chief Tom Menger warned of the threat of further unrest, similar to the storming of the Capitol on January 6, 2021. It has been reported DEA News.

He said an attack similar to the one in January 2021 could happen again, given the disconnected situation among US citizens.

He claims that the American capital police have made “more than 100 significant improvements” to increase the readiness of law enforcement. These include, in particular, the need to develop a contingency plan for events that may occur during demonstrations, partnerships with “tens of law enforcement agencies”, and strengthening the intelligence component in the work of the police.

The elected committee of the House of Representatives of the United States Congress, which previously investigated the situation around the attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021, due to the completion of its work withdrawn subpoena to seek testimony from former US President Donald Trump.

Prior to that, Donald Trump had said that bringing him to justice for the Capitol being raided by his supporters would only aim to exclude his participation in the new presidential election, and that previous similar allegations had been unsuccessful.
