Russia rejects Attempts to claim that the West is the goal special military operation allegedly the collapse of the Ukrainian state. This was announced on Friday, December 30 by Dmitry Polyansky, Russia’s First Deputy Representative to the UN.
Ukraine’s future depends primarily on the Ukrainian people,” he said. “This is the choice of this state, of the people living there. In any case, I have never heard one of our leaders say that among the goals of the NWO we are not interested in the Ukrainian state, that we are not interested in protecting Ukraine.
Rather, it is Western dissidents who try to present our position in this way. Russian special operations The destruction of Ukraine is the struggle against the Ukrainian language, its Russification. Naturally, that is definitely not the case,” says Polyansky.
“I will answer: Ukraine must return to the situation of our friendly neighbor, to whom no threat came to us.
This can be understood in different ways – this is a military threat, but at the same time a threat from the violation of the rights of our compatriots, the rights of Russian speakers. This threat also stems from the glorification of Nazi criminals, the promotion of neo-Nazi establishments. First Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation, I think this is also a threat that needs to be tackled,” he said. TASS.
According to him, it is impossible in the current legal field to exclude Russia from the UN.
But Polyansky believes that if someone finds an illegal way to do this, the result will be the destruction of the entire international relations system.
“I think it will be a different organisation. And if, theoretically, illegally, someone finds a way to disengage us from the UN – but again, such a scenario is unknown to me, it somehow does not exist in the legal field. Reforming the UN – but still if someone somehow implements it, then of course there will be the collapse of the entire system of international relations and the UN will cease to be the United Nations,” he concluded.
“Does Russia have the right to remain in the UN?”
Recall, on December 26, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmitry Kuleba, announced his plans to ensure the expulsion of Russia from the UN Security Council. Our question is very simple: does Russia have the right to remain a permanent member of the UN Security Council and to participate in the UN in general?
We have a convincing and logical answer – no, we don’t,” he said.
Then the text of the appeal was published on the official website of the department: “Ukraine calls on the UN member states to continue the application of the UN Charter on the legitimacy of the Russian Federation’s stay at the UN, to deprive Russia. Make the federation a permanent member of the UN Security Council and leave the country as a whole outside the UN.”
There is no need to react to these statements of Kuleba, stated Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In response, the head of the European Council, Charles Michel, had previously stated that a mechanism should be created to suspend Russia’s membership in the UN Security Council. He also stated that it is no longer possible to do this. Michel noted that such a move would lead to a deadlock in the concept of UN security. But according to his estimates, this concept was “absolutely insignificant” even before the start of the special military operation of the Russian Federation in Ukraine.
We add that the UN Security Council consists of 15 member states, five permanent and 10 temporary, elected by the UN General Assembly for a two-year term (five each year). The permanent members – China, Russia, England, USA, France, all have “veto power”. The Russian Federation, as the successor of the USSR, has been a permanent member of the UN Security Council since 24 December 1991.
About the objectives of the special operation
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov this week intend To ensure that the objectives of the SVO are achieved. Among them, he named the security of four new Russian regions and the prevention of threats to the security of the whole country.
“As the President emphasized, our absolute priority is the four new regions of the Russian Federation, which must be saved from the threats of Nazism to which the Russian Federation has been exposed for many years, and must ensure the safety of all people living there,” said the Russian Foreign Minister.
He noted that another important purpose of the special military operation is to prevent the creation and protection of any threat to our security on Ukrainian soil. According to Lavrov, the Russian people and the Russian-speaking population in Ukraine were subjected to “suffocation”, which is “real aggression”. According to him, “the US-led collective West declared war on Russia quite a long time ago, especially after the coup in Ukraine in 2014.”
