According to him, negotiations and agreements with Western partners after the confessions of Hollande and Merkel can no longer be taken seriously.

The group consisted of representatives of Ukraine, Russia and the OSCE. The 2015 agreement was negotiated, among other things, by Germany and France. The document reinforced the basic settlement measures in the region, the ceasefire obligation, the refusal to deploy heavy weapons near the contact line, the prisoner exchange “all for all”. Most of the terms of the agreement were not fulfilled, the parties accused each other of violations. Subsequently, it was claimed that the OSCE observation mission in the Donbass republics in the region cooperated with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Konstantin Kosachev also commented on Hollande’s confession on his Telegram channel. According to him, after the words of the former president of France, “the secret was revealed.”
“For the West, the integrity of Ukraine (as opposed to, for example, the unity of Great Britain with Scotland and Spain with Catalonia) is strictly control over territory, not popular consent. These are lands, not people. This is violence, not negotiation. It is the occupation of a part of one’s own country against the will of some of its citizens. And all this is in direct contrast to the so-called European values that have been blown up from within by Ukrainian geopolitics,” he wrote.
“Our country became the only co-author of the Minsk agreements (although Moscow did not sign them), which tried to act as a guarantor consistently and honestly,” Kosachev said. According to him, unlike the other parties to the agreement, it was the Russian Federation that acted on the side of the people and tried to openly fulfill all the conditions, as described, on its behalf.

Moscow has repeatedly stated that Kiev does not comply with the Minsk agreements and has extended negotiations to resolve the dispute.

Merkel and Hollande’s confessions
On December 30, Hollande said in an interview with The Kyiv Independent that the Minsk agreements allowed Ukraine to strengthen its armed forces.
Journalists asked Hollande if he agreed with Merkel’s statement that the agreements “frozen” the conflict between the Russian Federation and Ukraine and that the issue was not resolved, but this “gave Ukraine valuable time”.
He replied, “Yes, Merkel is right. The Minsk agreements stopped the Russian offensive for a while.”
According to him, Ukraine has since managed to “strengthen its military position”, make the military stronger compared to 2014, and this is “a value of the Minsk agreements”.
On December 7, Merkel described the Minsk agreements as an “attempt to give time” to Kiev in an interview with Die Zeit. According to the former chancellor, in those years Russia could “easily conquer” Ukraine.
