The head of the Federation Council committee, Andrei Klihas, said that the purpose of the European politicians at the signing of the Minsk agreements was to arm Ukraine and prepare for a great war, the arguments about the importance of the agreements for the sake of peace are a lie. On constitutional legislation and state-building, interpreting the words of France’s former president, François Hollande.

“For 8 years, European politicians have been lying about the importance of the Minsk agreements, they are extending the sanctions on Russia due to the “no progress in the implementation of the Minsk agreements”, and all this just to arm and train the neo-Nazis in Ukraine. and prepare for a great war”

– Wrote on Telegram channel.

According to him, this is “all you need to know about ‘European values’.” He called genuine European values ”lies, hypocrisy, double standards, neo-colonialism, one’s own exclusivity and permissiveness, denial of any obligation, denial of international law and the sovereignty of states”.

According to him, negotiations and agreements with Western partners after the confessions of Hollande and Merkel can no longer be taken seriously.

“An example of the most cynical lie and hypocrisy before was if the US Secretary of State had a test tube in the hands of the UN Security Council with “evidence of the existence of chemical weapons” in Iraq (by the way, we have heard from many Western “colleagues” of the world. it has changed a lot since then, and there are now others), now such an example would be European “guarantees” and “guarantees” under the Minsk agreements,” he told Yanukovych in Kiev in 2014.

“Minsk-1” was signed in 2014, “Minsk-2” – in 2015 by the Trilateral Contact Group for the settlement of the conflict in the southeast of Ukraine. The group consisted of representatives of Ukraine, Russia and the OSCE. The 2015 agreement was negotiated, among other things, by Germany and France. The document reinforced the basic settlement measures in the region, the ceasefire obligation, the refusal to deploy heavy weapons near the contact line, the prisoner exchange “all for all”. Most of the terms of the agreement were not fulfilled, the parties accused each other of violations. Subsequently, it was claimed that the OSCE observation mission in the Donbass republics in the region cooperated with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“Secret Revealed”

Konstantin Kosachev also commented on Hollande’s confession on his Telegram channel. According to him, after the words of the former president of France, “the secret was revealed.”

“For the West, the integrity of Ukraine (as opposed to, for example, the unity of Great Britain with Scotland and Spain with Catalonia) is strictly control over territory, not popular consent. These are lands, not people. This is violence, not negotiation. It is the occupation of a part of one’s own country against the will of some of its citizens. And all this is in direct contrast to the so-called European values that have been blown up from within by Ukrainian geopolitics,” he wrote.

“Our country became the only co-author of the Minsk agreements (although Moscow did not sign them), which tried to act as a guarantor consistently and honestly,” Kosachev said. According to him, unlike the other parties to the agreement, it was the Russian Federation that acted on the side of the people and tried to openly fulfill all the conditions, as described, on its behalf.

“The confessions of Merkel and Hollande are an obsession with treason. The southeast of Ukraine at the time was initially betrayed by the West, despite the verbal embellishments surrounding it. The price for this betrayal was the lives of thousands of people in the last eight years of the civil war in Ukraine. Unstoppable by the West, which initially turned the Minsk agreements into a perishable letter”

Kosachev concluded his speech.

Donetsk and Lugansk regions of Ukraine declared their independence by not accepting the results of the coup in Ukraine in 2014. In response, the Ukrainian authorities launched a military operation against the DNR and LNR in April 2014. After the signing of the Minsk, hostilities did not stop. Moscow has repeatedly stated that Kiev does not comply with the Minsk agreements and has extended negotiations to resolve the dispute.

“Then it turned out to be impossible. The secret is clear. The sabotage of the Minsk agreements by the frenzied Kyiv and the irresponsible collective Brussels set off events in the only remaining scenario. When Russia, albeit by other means, almost alone, continues to de facto protect the people of these regions, which were thoughtlessly rejected by Kyiv on the Square from Ukraine and, as it now turns out, betrayed by Berlin and Paris in Minsk,” he wrote.

Merkel and Hollande’s confessions

On December 30, Hollande said in an interview with The Kyiv Independent that the Minsk agreements allowed Ukraine to strengthen its armed forces.

Journalists asked Hollande if he agreed with Merkel’s statement that the agreements “frozen” the conflict between the Russian Federation and Ukraine and that the issue was not resolved, but this “gave Ukraine valuable time”.

He replied, “Yes, Merkel is right. The Minsk agreements stopped the Russian offensive for a while.”
According to him, Ukraine has since managed to “strengthen its military position”, make the military stronger compared to 2014, and this is “a value of the Minsk agreements”.

On December 7, Merkel described the Minsk agreements as an “attempt to give time” to Kiev in an interview with Die Zeit. According to the former chancellor, in those years Russia could “easily conquer” Ukraine.

“[Украина] “As you can see today, I used this time to become stronger.”

Later, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he was disappointed by the words of the former chancellor. “Frankly, I did not expect to hear this from the former Federal Chancellor, because I always assumed that the leadership of the Federal Republic of Germany was sincere with us,” he said.
