For the thousands of temporary workers who make up Generalitat’s workforce, reading the DOGV last week brought up to 63 opportunities to stabilize their position. The Official Journal of the Generalitat Valenciana published elective test calls last week to consolidate a total of 1,274 positions occupied by temporary staff as part of Generalitat’s extraordinary stabilization process aimed at reducing the temporaryness of Administration staff to 8%.
The Ministry of Justice (responsible for regional government powers) is trying to push the accelerator to stabilize civil servants to achieve the goals set by the European Union and the ‘Iceta law’ approved only a year ago. And after months of deliberation, the scales are clear and with places available, this end of the year is characterized by the sprint to get the maximum possible (and necessary) number of places in the competition.
Thus, 63 free shift calls were issued, 19 for internal promotions and 4 for intellectually diverse people, in the past week from Monday, December 19, to Friday, December 23, which coincides with the Christmas holidays. The first group contains a total of 557 positions, and the second reaches 717, while the last group affects 39 positions.
In total, 184 sites in subgroup A1 were called across the three methods; 155 from A2; 364 from C1; 437 of C2 and 444 of APF (Governmental Professional Bodies). As of the day following the publication date of each call, the interested parties have 20 working days to register for the process.
These calls are part of the extraordinary Public Employment Offer (OPE) to reduce temporary employment at the Generalitat Valenciana Administration.
Temporary staff who have served in the Valencian Administration since before 2016 can participate in this process. Therefore, this extraordinary job offer has the target of reducing the interim period to 8 percent in accordance with the 20/2021 law. 28 December on urgent measures to reduce temporary employment in the public sector.
To comply with this rule, Consell passed decree 69/2022 which established two additional stability ratios: 2,514 places of stability through competition and 574 places through competition-opposition.
