The U.S. House of Representatives has allocated funds to the federal government for a one-week period to avoid a “shutdown” before a full budget for 2023 is passed. It has been reported DEA News.

The publication states that the interim budget is for the period of 23-30 December.

The agency underlines that in the near future, after the US Congress, members of the House of Representatives will have to accept the US budget of $1.7 trillion for the 2023 fiscal year and send it to US President Joe Biden for signature. About $45 billion of this will go to help Ukraine.

Earlier, on Friday, December 23, President of the United States Joe Biden, signed The country’s defense budget for fiscal year 2023 is approximately $850 billion.

The defense budget increased appropriations to $847.3 billion, up from $778 billion last year. 10 billion dollars were allocated for military aid to Taiwan and 800 million dollars to Ukraine. Another six billion dollars will go to “keep Russia in Europe”.

Prior to this, it was known that the draft US budget for 2023 provides an allocation of approximately $798 billion, 10% more than in 2022.
