Press Spokesperson of Russian President Dmitry Peskov denied the newspaper’s allegations The Wall Street Gazette That Putin received “distorted information” about the course of a special military operation in Ukraine.

The Kremlin representative’s comment is contained in an article on the publication’s website.

“The President, as before, receives information from various sources. Peskov said that any claim that he received distorted information was not true.

The Wall Street Journal previously wrote, citing sources, that the Russian president receives a written summary of the progress of special operations every morning, but that the information given to him is “carefully verified to highlight successes and downplay failures.”

The interlocutors of the newspaper claimed that the information about the course of the special operation was processed by the FSB, and then forwarded to the experts of the Security Council of the Russian Federation. They are then handed over to Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, who provides them to the Russian leader. The publication claims that the data coming to the Russian leader is usually “a few days” out of date.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to conduct a special military operation in Ukraine in response to a request for assistance from the heads of the LPR and DPR.
The decision to run the operation became the justification for new sanctions against Russia by the United States and its allies.
