From the beginning of 2023, the State Duma will begin to tighten the laws on children’s access to the Internet, stated Yana Lantratova, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Education Committee, in an interview with Reedus. According to him, the lawmakers plan to seriously address the problem of the impact on young people of destructive content on social networks, which leads to immoral behavior and suicide.

“Since the winter session has already ended, we have agreed to start the spring session with a major hearing on online disruption and child protection. And together we will develop legal initiatives to protect our children. From the very beginning of the new year,” Lantratova said.

He also noted that he was investigating how disruptive groups spread on the Internet, how they attract young people, and what communication channels they use.
