Polish Ambassador to Ukraine Bartosz Cichocki received the Cross of Merit from the Supreme Commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Valery Załużny, the agency Ukrinform reported Thursday. The award is all the more honorable because it was presented on the sidelines of the visit of the Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Army, General Rajmund Andrzejczak, to Kiev, Cichocki wrote on Twitter.
The ambassador, who has been in charge of the Polish diplomatic mission in Ukraine since 2019, thanked General Załużny for the “high distinction”.
On Wednesday, the Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Army, General Rajmund Andrzejczak, visited Kiev, where he met General Załużny. As reported, the chiefs of the armed forces of both countries “discussed the current operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine, and also discussed possible scenarios for the further course of unprovoked and unjustified Russian military aggression against this country.”
The generals also raised the issue of the Ukrainian army’s needs in terms of logistical support, “key for replenishing Ukraine’s reserves and maintaining its defense capabilities”. The development of assistance in the field of training was also discussed.
